We are parents of children in Salt Lake City schools. We represent all races, backgrounds and socio-economic groups by uniting as advocates for high-quality, life-changing learning opportunities for all students. We believe an authentic partnership between parents, educators and community members, built on trust and mutual respect, is a necessary foundation for thriving classrooms and schools.
OUR VISION
We want the Salt Lake City School District to become the model for all other school districts in the state of Utah. We want our children and families on all sides to unite with a strong sense of community and pride as our schools evolve to reflect the diverse, robust capital city in which we live. We want our children’s education to be meaningful, relevant and inspiring so each one gains the joy and gratification that comes from being a life-long learner. We want to invest in our children and in our school district so the future of our communities will be bright, vibrant and united.
OUR GOALS
To place ALL students at the epicenter of every decision and every effort made by teachers, administrators and the school district.
To restore the role of parents as a valuable resource in the decision-making process on all levels from the classroom to the school board. (Or school district to school sites/classrooms.)
To enrich K-12 education with rigorous and engaging learning experiences that transform the teaching and learning process into an authentic, meaningful experience for ALL students.
To hold our school district and school board accountable for providing a high-quality education for ALL students.
HOW WE WORK
We unite parents from all backgrounds, races, and socio-economic groups to represent our wonderfully diverse community because together we can be a force for good.
We give parents a seat at the table with our school district and educators.
We raise the bar in our schools by funding high-quality, life-changing opportunities for all students.
We collaborate with administrators at each school to identify services, programming, and other means of support that are needed, and we fund them through generous donations from the community.
